Both retailers offer the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 GPS for $329 right now (though Amazon's stock is much more limited than Walmart.) The Series 6 is the most feature-packed Apple Watch to date. And while it doesn't look much different from its predecessor, Apple has made a few hardware updates. Inside is a new U1 chip and a blood oxygen sensor, and watchOS 7 brings a convenient handwashing timer to the device along with native sleep tracking. During WWDC this week, Apple announced the latter would be very comprehensive. Even more when watchOS 8 comes out in the fall.
The new S6 chip inside makes the Series 6 faster than its predecessor. But it's also more powerful. Apple can improve battery life with this. The watch will last approximately two days on a single charge. Now it powers up faster, too — in our testing. It takes about 90 minutes to go from zero to full charge.
If you have an aging Apple Watch, or know you'll be getting a lot from the many wellness features the Series 6 has, this sale is one of the best we've seen. But if you're on a budget or haven't owned a smartwatch before, the cheaper $269 Apple Watch SE will be a better fit for you.
